Climate and ESG
compliance infrastructure
Regulators, investors and businesses depend on verified, auditable climate and ESG positions. Clite produces them, CBAM today, four more mandates in sequence.
Reports are not the product. The position is.
A report can be rewritten. A position has to survive a verifier, a customs authority and a buyer asking where the number came from.
Insight, not raw data
Clite is built to hold the verified position, not the supplier's plant data. Supplier-side sharing is on the roadmap.
Built for the audit
Every figure carries its input, its method and the article it rests on. The trail is retained by default.
A single base, five mandates
The same verified position answers CBAM now and is built to answer the mandates that follow, without running the data exercise twice.
Mandate coverage
CBAM is live. The remaining four sit on the same base and are released in sequence.
Embedded emissions and certificate obligation for iron and steel, cement, aluminium, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen
Measure, report and reduce GHG emissions. All entities in the UAE, including free zones.
Due diligence across the chain of activities of companies above 5,000 employees and EUR 1.5bn turnover. Applies from 26 July 2029.
Digital product passport and lifecycle sustainability documentation at product level
LEAP framework, nature dependency and impact assessment across the value chain
UK CBAM, from 1 January 2027, will be handled as a parameter set on the same module, not a separate build.
CBAM
The definitive phase began in January 2026. The first declaration and certificate surrender are due by 30 September 2027, for 2026 imports. The phase-in runs to 2034. The arithmetic is not the hard part. Getting verified emissions out of a supplier who has never been asked for them is.
Set up the declarant
Authorised declarant, reporting year, installations of origin.
Load the imports
Goods, CN codes, net mass and country of origin.
Attach supplier data
Actual verified emissions from the installation, with its evidence.
Run the obligation
Deterministic engine, twelve steps, each recorded.
Deduct carbon price paid
Carbon price already settled at origin, where it is evidenced.
Review the position
Certificate count, phase-in factor and the basis for each figure.
Export the declaration
XML for the declarant to file, with the supporting pack.
Iron and steel, aluminium, fertilisers and cement carry a 50-tonne cumulative net mass threshold per importer per calendar year. Once crossed, the full annual volume is obligated. Electricity and hydrogen sit outside it. The engine, the regulations it rests on, the operating model and the known limits are set out in full on the CBAM page.
Who Clite is for
EU importers
You carry the obligation and the penalty, and the data you need sits in a plant you do not control.
- Know your exposure before the declaration falls due
- Hold supplier data per installation, per CN code, per production route
- File on figures you can defend line by line
GCC, INDIA AND TURKEY EXPORTERS
Your buyers now need numbers you were never required to produce. Without your numbers, your buyer files on EU default values, set near the worst plant in your country. You pay for emissions you did not produce.
On the roadmap, not yet live
Once supplier onboarding ships, you will be able to:
- Produce emissions data in the form the buyer's filing needs
- Share the position without handing over your plant data
- Do the work once and reuse it for every buyer who asks
Clite operates from India with reach into the GCC and Turkey.
Platform
- HOSTING
- AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland).
- CALCULATION
- Rules engine. Deterministic, reproducible, versioned.
- RETENTION
- Audit trail kept by default. Deleted if you opt out.
- FILING
- Clite produces the declaration. You submit it.
- SERVICE
- Technology only. Clite does not conduct site visits.
- SUPPLIER ONBOARDING
- On the roadmap, not yet live.
The sequence
Each mandate reuses the verified position rather than starting a fresh data exercise.
Live. Embedded emissions, certificate obligation and declaration XML for EU importers. UK CBAM to follow as a parameter set.
Next. GHG emissions measurement, reporting and reduction for entities in the UAE, including free zones.
Planned. Due diligence across the chain of activities, drawing on supplier positions already verified for CBAM.
Planned. Digital product passport and lifecycle documentation at product level.
Planned. Nature dependency and impact assessment under the LEAP framework.
